The Army is working to gain formal recognition for skills Soldiers learn and for their experience in the Army. This credentialing will increase Soldiers’ ability to find rewarding jobs when they leave active duty, and will enhance skills while serving. To expand credentialing, U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command and other Army agencies are working with civilian credentialing bodies and federal and state licensing agencies. The initial focus is on manufacturing-related skills. Future efforts will include health care, information technology, transportation and logistics.
