U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command foreign liaison officers participated in a professional development session by visiting Fort Huachuca, Ariz., and Fort Bliss, Texas, from Oct. 30 to Nov. 3. During their visit to Fort Huachuca, the foreign liaison officers learned about the U.S. Army Intelligence Center of Excellence and the 311th Military Intelligence Brigade’s roles and mission. JOINT BASE LANGLEY-EUSTIS, Va. – The U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command, Deputy Commanding General, Lt. Gen. Sean MacFarland hosted Lt. Gen. Danilo Errico, Chief of the General Staff of the Italian Army (right), Oct. 16, 2017 at the headquarters building on Fort Eustis. Errico and the Italian delegation received a series of presentations, including an overview of TRADOC, the Multi-Domain Battle Concept, Army Modernization Priorities, and a Combat Vehicle Modernization Strategy Briefing. Discussions included the role of multinational partners in establishing presence and access during both the competition and conflict periods described in the MDB Concept. JOINT BASE LANGLEY-EUSTIS, Va. – The U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command, Deputy Commanding General, Lt. Gen. Sean MacFarland hosted Brig. Gen. Kenneth Liow, Commander, Army Training and Doctrine Command, Singapore Armed Forces, Oct. 12, 2017 at the headquarters building on Joint Base Langley-Eustis. The agenda included a TRADOC overview, and visits to G-27 Operational Environment Training Support Center and to the Center for Initial Military Training where he received a brief on on Holistic Health and Fitness. The Singapore delegation presented briefings on “Building the Next Generation Army” and “Army Ready, Army Strong,” their approach to physical fitness. Liow stated that he can see opportunities where the two TRADOCs could possibly collaborate in the future. Liow was also able to attend the annual meeting of the Association of the United States Army, where he met with numerous senior leaders to include Gen. David Perkins, TRADOC commander. During his visit, Biggart received an overview of TRADOC and learned how the command designs, acquires, builds and improves the U.S. Army. Biggart also received a tour of the OETSC, where he learned how TRADOC understands, visualizes, describes, delivers and assess the operational environment for the U.S. Army. Kenyan Defense Forces, led by Brig. Gen. D.F. McOkech, visited 3rd Port on Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Va., Sept. 13, 2017. During the visit, the delegation learned about the different types of watercraft the Army has in its inventory. The delegation also received an overview of how the U.S. Army develops and uses logistics processes in order to assist the Kenyan army’s efforts to execute sustainment in a more efficient, process-driven manner.

This year’s Regional Commanders Conference at was held at U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command headquarters on Fort Eustis, Virginia, July 20, 2017. The RCC is an annual event co-hosted by the NATO Supreme Allied Commander for Transformation, Gen. Denis Mercier, and the Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Gen. Paul Selva. The conference provides a venue for NATO and U.S. commanders to discuss future defense posture and force development. Attendees include senior service, Joint Staff and NATO staff in the region.
